Lead adviser on 175 announced transactions (€250 billion) 2003-16, he has extensive sovereign, regulatory, financial institutional & corporate experience in EMEA & India, advising at ministerial & board levels on: governance & controls; strategy; M&A; public & private debt & equity capital markets; investment; restructuring & performance improvement; risk measurement, pricing & management; and economic & market development policy.
Paul built successful teams & businesses for Cazenove (UK 2001-05), Rothschild (UK 2005-08, Middle East & India 2008- 12, Benelux & Nordic 2012-16), Inchcape (East Africa 2017-20) & RENEW (2020-22), as well as for not-for-profit enterprises: the Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT) Middle East (2008-12), ACT East Africa (2016-22), the Middle East Investor Relations Society (2008-15) & the Investor Relations Society of South Africa (2017-date). Based in Addis since 2016, Paul joined Inchcape (to drive growth in Africa & multi-sector investment in Ethiopia) & in 2020 joined Renew Strategies (to build its business across sub-Saharan Africa). Paul is currently: Senior Adviser at Rothschild & RENEW; NED of the Investor Relations Society of South Africa; Chairman Emeritus of the ME Investor Relations Society; and advisory board member at Investure (Sweden) & KAMRO Capital (Uganda)
